We all know that health is the greatest wealth, and the immune system associated with it acts as a shield to protect us. As 2025 approaches, we need to understand that we need to make changes in our daily habits to make our immunity even stronger. To improve our immune system, many important changes need to be made in our lifestyle, diet, and mindset.
I have learned a lot from my personal lifestyle and in this article I will share all the habits that I have adopted and which have benefited me immensely. I hope that when you include these in your daily routine, you too will feel your immunity strong and body healthy.
1. Eat right: Diet helps build immunity


Your diet provides the energy required for every part of your body to function properly. If we keep our diet right, our health as well as our immunity remains strong. I always felt that unless the right food is eaten, the full power of the body cannot be utilized properly.
In my experience, whenever I have eaten fresh fruits, green vegetables, and protein-rich foods, I have felt my health has improved and my risk of any type of disease has decreased.
Nutrients like vitamin C and zinc are essential for the body. I have noticed that things like oranges, lemons, tomatoes, green chillies, and ginger have helped me improve my immunity. Along with this, I have also made it a habit to eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids like fish, walnuts, and chia seeds, which help in keeping the immune system strong.
When I increased the amount of protein in my diet, I noticed an improvement in my skin and energy levels. Also, I have often noticed that foods like pulses , eggs , and meat boost the immune system.
2. Importance of sleep: It is very important to give the body proper rest

Whenever we talk about sleep, it affects everything related to us – our mental state, physical activity, and most importantly immunity. When we make sleep a priority in our lives, the functioning of the body gets a lot of benefits.
I have understood from my experience that if I sleep at least 7-8 hours a day, then the fatigue of the body goes away the next day and I feel fresh throughout the day.
Not only does it give me mental peace, but my body organs also function better. Sleep repairs our cells, and the body functions at its full potential. This has become an extremely important habit for maintaining my health.
For me, night time is the best time for relaxation, when we are completely rested physically and mentally. If you want your immune system to be strong, adopt sleep as a habit.
3. Exercise: Physical activity improves immunity


Exercise has a profound effect on immunity, and it not only makes the body fit but also boosts the immune system. When I included physical exercise in my daily routine, my body got new energy and also got the necessary nutrition.
If you do 30 minutes of light exercise a day, it not only activates every cell of the body, but also strengthens the immune system. I have included yoga, running and stretching in my routine, and I have got positive results.
Daily exercise improves blood circulation and oxygen supply in the body, which increases the strength of the body’s defense cells. When I do light exercises early in the morning, I remain active both mentally and physically throughout the day.
4. Avoid stress: Mental peace strengthens immunity

Mental state also plays an important role in keeping our immune system strong. When we are under stress, the level of cortisol (stress hormone) increases in our body, which weakens the body’s immunity.
That is why I made it a habit to meditate to reduce stress in my life . Whenever I feel stressed , I try to calm down by meditating for a few minutes. This not only gives peace to my mind but also relaxes my body.

Apart from this, I have also started giving myself time for entertainment. Pursuing my hobbies, meeting friends or reading my favourite books gives mental peace and improves immunity.
5. Increase water intake: Keep the body hydrated

Our body is 70% water, and when there is a lack of water in the body, it affects our health. I have observed that when I drink the right amount of water, not only does my skin stay glowing, but I also feel less lethargic and tired.

Water helps flush out toxins from our body and provides nutrition to our cells. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water daily provides energy to every part of the body and increases immunity.
6. Adopt a healthy lifestyle: mental and physical balance

A healthy lifestyle does not only mean physical fitness, but also mental balance. I have found that when we are mentally healthy, our physical health is also better.

For me, the habit of being happy has been important. Positive thinking and pursuing your hobbies brings mental peace, which has a positive effect on the entire body. If you are mentally strong, your immune system also remains healthy.

By adopting all these habits, I have felt much better. In 2025, when our lifestyle is going to change even more, by adopting these habits we can not only keep our health better but also strengthen our immunity.
